Just when I thought, I had exhausted the usage of turmeric; here comes a very healthy and easy to make turmeric ice cream. The idea behind this recipe was to take healthy and raw ingredients and add turmeric to them, which not only adds the goodness of turmeric to the recipe but also a natural color.
You may choose to use turmeric powder or fresh turmeric juice for this recipe.
Turmeric is a wonder spice, which boosts immunity, prevents development of type 2 diabetes and has anti-oxidant properties. It is rich in dietary fiber, iron, potassium, magnesium and B6 with almost no calories (1 tablespoon has only 24 calories).
Ingredients:
1 frozen ripe banana
1 cup coconut cream or thick coconut milk
teaspoon turmeric powder or 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric juice
2 tablespoons coconut sugar or honey (optional)
Method:
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
- Use an ice cream maker to make the ice cream or freeze for 30 minutes and blend using a hand blender. Repeat this process for 4-5 times after every 30 mins.
- Allow to freeze for 4-6 hours.
Tips:
- You may choose to substitute banana with any other fruit, for example, a musk melon.
